As a recently appointed Tier 1 supplier, we are currently installing our intelligent hybrid energy storage systems to provide green and efficient power to remote telecom towers for one of Sri Lanka’s largest telecoms network operators, Dialog Axiata. A subsidiary of Axiata Group Berhad, one of the leading telecommunications network providers in Asia who service over 350 million customers, Dialog Axiata command a market share of over 50% in Sri Lanka and are responsible for over 3500 of the country’s telecoms towers.
The initial phase of installations consists of new solar PV arrays of up to 4kWp installed on the roofs of existing telecoms base stations linked to our intelligent hybrid DSR-G GridVerters.
DSR-G GridVerters ready for final commissioning
Bad and off-grid telecoms towers benefit from StorTera hybrid energy systems
Our multi-functional and compact GridVerters allow for removal of rectifiers and some switchgear elements giving benefits to both CAPEX and OPEX costs for the network operator. The DSR-G GridVerters specified for this project manage the generated energy from the PV array in conjunction with the existing back-up diesel generators (if present), allowing seamless uninterrupted powering of the tower’s critical systems and also allow grid import/export facility when appropriate.
The second phase of tower installations will also include our LFP battery modules to help reduce even further the tower operator’s costs and CO2 emissions, and lead to an even more resilient system, particularly in bad and off-grid locations. All of the project’s installations are being completed in collaboration with our Sri Lankan distributor IMS Holdings (Pvt) Ltd.
